Responsibility isnt taught

People arent taught to be responsible, and some that are dont practice it. Our system promotes irresponsibility and dependence on anyone but themselves. That may be the bottom line of the problem, as I see it.

As for the stadium deal, I coulnt care less. I dont follow sports, dont like sports, and can barely stand sports people (hehe). Yep, there are two sides to the story on this stadium deal. Yep, those people shoulda expected something to be built on that land. BUT... they have every right to do what they can to stop it rather than going with the status quo.

As for rental car taxes.... you will pay it if you rent a car. Word I got is that everyone is paying it, not just outsiders. Local businesses, like where I work, is paying it too, same with the hotel tax. So, it isnt exactly free for us.

Now, back to the origional post..... many people react based on how they are acted on. If a dog craps on my yard and I dont see it, I clean it up (or my wife does). If I see the dog but no owner, oh well (call the wife). If the owner is on the other end of the leash while the dog craps AND I see it (and he/she sees me), it will be cleaned up without much yelling (not by my wife).

We are lucky... our dog only craps in our yard.

I still dont get it....

''The point of the original email was to think before you rip someone
because the person's uncle had just passed away - it was not simply a
gripe about dogs and cats and smokers.''

Now, assuming that anyone, on any given day of the year, might have a personal tragedy.... does that mean there should be no verbal reply just in case the listener is having a bad week? I dont see it that way.

I think people should be treated as they treat. If I were to cuz someone out for doing something, I would not be surprised to be cussed out. If someone takes the tone in which I ask them to get thier dog off my property the wrong way, I may also get cussed out. Confused yet? Well, there is no one correct way to respond to any given circumstance.

Now I want a cigar:)

It's Great

And i don't mean the stadium...(o;

I think it's great that more folks are getting on the ''Talk About It'' site and doing just that. You all keep me entertained, a big THANK YOU to that one!

Interesting how the stadium topic creeps in everywhere. I have not made up my mind yet but you have given me food for thought. Keep it up!
