You know it is ashame and pathetic that the system works the way it does.  I agree, the entire system I feel needs to be revamped.  We can not even count on the powers that be to take care of what needs to be done. I am really disappointed in the system once again for using our hard earned tax dollars and leaving us out to dry.  I am really tired of being the victim on so many levels.  First we pay the tax dollars we do and do not get the help me need as well as loosing 2 of my family members to this sick son of a B**** and of course nothing being done yet again.  He gets off when we are the ones suffering.  We try to stand up for what is right to no avail once again.  I am really tired of the constant reminder of the  inadequacies of the system.and all it pertains to.

A message came through on my Facebook feed that protests against the dropping of charges against Scott Graham will take place at Alma School and Pecos on Tue 9/25 and Sat 9/29, both days 11am-1pm.  Unfortunately I will be at work both times.  I don't know the person who is coordinating it, but the info is being spread around on Facebook to the animal welfare community.  In case you are not aware, I wanted to add the info on here as well.  I'm not sure if I'm able to attach a file to this thread, but if I can do that I will.

Thank you for letting our community know about this, I know the neighborhood across the street is very active with the Scott Graham case and I would like to see this neighborhood get more involved with this case and show support for their animals.  I know I for one will participate in this worthy cause.

I received a call from Sgt. Tony this AM.  He wanted me to get this message out and to let all know police are continuing to gather evidence in this case and it is still under open investigation.  It is below:

MEDIA RELEASE

Animal Cruelty Case

On 09-03-2012 suspect Scott Graham was arrested for the following:  One count of Theft, which is a Class 1 Misdemeanor;  One count of Mistreatment to Animals, which is a Class 6 Felony;  Two counts of Cruelty to Animals, which is a Class 1 Misdemeanor.

This arrest was reference the investigation of a missing cat from the area of
Extension / Natal in Mesa. In addition, several other cats were believed  to be missing from the area, although no other reports were made by victims. Subsequent to the report, three cats were found deceased not far from the original theft location. One of those cats was believed to possibly be the cat stolen from our victim's residence.

At the time of Scott Graham's arrest, testimony and evidence available to arresting officers supported the listed charges. However, subsequent investigation by detectives has developed information which brings some the initial facts into question. Based upon this development, the decision was made to continue with only the Theft charge. At this time, investigative efforts have been exhausted. Any additional or future charges are unlikely until additional evidence is developed or received that would allow the investigation to continue.
