I am very disappointed at the way our city is being handled. The mayor, and everyone else knows for a fact how bad some of the neighborhoods are and no action is being taken on the matter. I'm talking about the problem with these 'little' kids running around causing all kinds of trouble. It's just not right. No one, and I mean no one is doing anything to solve this problem, instead we just keep concerning ourselves with how much money we're supposed to have and when the next newest thing is going to hit our city. C'mon people wake up and come back to reality. If we don't find some way to solve this problem then no one from the better more safer areas will really want to come to our city and help support it because they'll see it as a lost cause.
There are several ideas that I have to eliminate gangs:
1) Talk to each and every kid and find out what's really going with him/her
2) Start questioning a lot of the parents' ability to raise their child properly
3) Possibly create more incentives for each kid that chooses to go back to school if there are not currently there already
There is a reason why a lot of these kids are doing what they're doing, and it mainly has to do with the fact that parents are paying close enough attention to their kid(s). Parents out there know that this is true. If actions are not taken soon then Detroit will always carry that same shaggy reputation. Why don't we start investing our money in the things that really matter like ways to make the city safer, instead of just ways to make it richer.
