City of Meadow Vale

I've notice that the areas at the Shelbyville Road entrances to both

Moorgate and Bellemeade have constructions areas, after a few inquires

I was told that these are to be TARC Bus Stop with benches and trash cans.

What a nightmare - having served on a Small City Council for over 20 years

I can tell you, we are inviting trouble.. (Vandalism and ExcessiveTrash)

The one at Bellemeade is encroaching on the entrance area where the City

has recently spent MY TAX DOLLARS (twice) to improve the signage and the plantings.

And it was looking GREAT - Now you have agreed to a TARC bench and trash can????? Unbelievable.  

Where the adjoining homeowners at least contacted to get their feelings?

Who is going to be responsible for "policing" the area to keep the trash picked

up,  I know from experience it is not TARC..... (not in a timely manner, anyhow)

This is a very poor decision, and if there is a chance to stop the installation

I think the City would be wise to do so.

TARC has a project to update its existing buss stops along Shelbyville road.

The did agree not to put up the shelters along the Bellemeade part.

Yesterday they also agreed to redo the Bellemeade Road away from out entrance to just east of the entrance.

Their buss stops are in the public right away.

Absurd!!!!!!!!  TARC should have considered the people before they started their update project.  The mess that they have made at the Bellmeade entrance is an eyesore!!!!!  They certainly could not have given that location any sensible foresight.  If that had been allowed to continue as it was started, the bench and trash cans not only would have been unsightly, they would have obscured vision of drivers trying to pull out onto Shelbyville Road.  That project needs to be moved far down the road from that entrance.  Why go eastward?  That would create two TARC stops within less than a quarter of a mile.  I thought TARC was trying to reduce the number of stops as a money-saving tactic????????

BTW, is this the same TARC that had to eliminate routes, cut services, lay off employees, and raise rates because they didn't have any money?  Is this same TARC going to empty the trash cans? 

How would these stops have fit into the plans that would have been installed the sidewalks along Shelbyville Road?
