San Antonio ranks 40 in "walkability" of the 50 U.S. Cities ranked each year. We need paved walking trails, open spaces, and areas for our neighbors to get moving!
Recently, MHNA president, Richard Garcia asked me to attend the council meeting to again request support for a linear park along Martinez Creek. I presented photos of the creek including some students walking along the hill. As we know there are worn footpaths from General McMullen to Alderte Park, Loma park Elementary, and even to Sonnie Melendrez Park.
We need the City to seriously consider investing in our area with paved walking trails, lighting, landscaping, shade, benches, etc. Please let our City Council, Mayor & city manager know how much we need this improvement for safety, health and wellness.
