Is there some kind of covenant that covers how your property should be kept? There is a home on Patches with a wrecked car in the drive and torn up blinds on the windows. This isn't anything that is temporary, because I have lived near it for the past year. The pool in the backyard is full of muddy water and sludge, the fence has fallen down. I am embarrassed for friends to drive by it. Who can I call?? What can be done??

There is no covenant against bad taste. You might want to call Bartlett code enforcement about the pool or the health department.

Bad taste is a tacky color, 4 foot grass, a fence fallen over, a wrecked car is just trashy. We are talking old doors and broken chairs in the backyard. Not to mention the disgusting pool thing. Its obviously not your neighbor or you would be upset too.
Getting Better

FYI, The rest of the story is, the family lost that house and bank finally got around to getting it cleaned up after several notices from Bartlett Code Enforcement. Unfortunately, all this took time and nobody wins. The house is now for sale and complaints can go direct to the realtor company on the sign in front. Thanks for your concerns.
