Ridgeway Road re-design

Posted in: Balmoral
One way to stabilize the area of Balmoral dissected by Ridgeway would be to re-design the area of Ridgeway Road between Quince and Macinness similar to what has been done on Riverside Drive in front of Tom Lee Park. As long as that area between Quince and Macinness is a virtual high speed throughway no homeowner is going to want to live there, which means that part of the neighborhood will continue to fray and become more attractive more commercial development like the car dealership. Slowing that part of Ridgeway down with a parkway could help reinforce that part of Balmoral as a residential neighborhood. I suggest the neighborhood association meet with the city planning department to look into this or other options that will keep Balmoral from being the next Hickory Hill.

Speed Bumps

Yeah, you expect high speed traffic on Ridgeway, but not on Lynnfield and Mcinnis. Has anyone looked into getting speed humps on those roads. Commuters from outside our neighborhood are obviously using our neighborhood streets as throughfares to avoid traffic on Quince or Ridgeway. Speed humps would make them slow down, or better yet, avoid our sidestreets altogether.
