There is info about the proposed Community Ctr. to be by the Franklin Library on the Waveland Park website ''talk about it''. There is to be a trail around the cemetery, but it should be made to go as far north as at least Tower Park, and eventually on the 50th & Urbandale to link with the inter-urban trail. Plans for the Community Center

Plan and Zoning approved a revised plan for the building at its meeting last week. Other than the meeting rooms which could be used by community groups ''after hours,'' little from the ''public input'' meetings Polk County conducted appear to have been incoporated. The number one request was for a walking trail/recreation trail, and other suggestions ranged from a play area for children to picnic tables, a gazebo for concerts, etc. The Park and Recreation Department has started planning for a ''Golf Learning Center'' or driving range west of the building - although members of its staff have said they would be starting another round of ''public input'' opportunities for what it will do in the area. The need for a driving range was not mentioned by anyone at any of the meetings for the Center. Any thoughts on that??

golf lessons?

I don't golf, but isn't there a driving range at Waveland Golf Course? If not, that seems like a better location to me. I believe the trail would be a better use of funds and used by more.
