Weeds...

Posted in: Castlegate

Well when I saw them on Saturday (on the way to my son's baseball game so it was around 7:30 AM) there were at least 10 of then along Schnepf, those were the ones that I counted and since I was driving I imagine I missed some.  There were quite a few out along that road.  We came home 5 hours later or so but I came down Ocotillo so not sure if they were still there or not, but they cleared away all the weeds down there as they were still bad when we left, I imagine at that hour they had just gotten started.

Sorry, no connections, I just e-mail Brett and ask questions and e-mail any complaints I have and as long as I specifically ask for a response I always have gotten one from him within a reasonable amount of time.  I just use his e-mail addy that's listed on here and put "Castlegate Subdivision" in the subject line.

Well, I have not gotten a response and gave up a long time ago. My DH keeps trying, but I refuse to be disrespected by Oasis after my last time I asked.

Let me be clear... I have no qualms about the new landscaping company. They are most likely working under the direction of the people paying them and have quite a large job to do here. I am not silly. I know it will take time. I was just asking if any homeowners had questioned Oasis and gotten any real answers.

We have a problem here and if it continues to be on the back burner and that's sufficient for most people, then... hey... we should commend our mgmt co. on their fine, mediocre job they spend our money with.

Just sayin'

it's been about 3 weeks since new landscapers took over and can't say that i see any real progress.

thought i heard them say at the special meeting that there would be large crews here to get place back in shape, but i've not seen them.

if you look closely on schnepf it looks like they just cut the weeds down with a "weed wacker".  hope some kind of chemical was used or they are just going to reappear.

agree that the company across the street would probably have done a better job.

at least this is not a long term contract and can be terminated if they are not doing the job they are getting paid a small fortune to do.

The landscapers had said they would have all the weeds gone by the end of May (two months) from when they started...and I'm holding them to that.  It has been three weeks now and they have made some noticeable progress.  Some of the parks within the community are done and Schnepf Road is almost done.  They have used weed wackers, hand pulling, and chemicals.  Their plan now is to work down Castlegate, then Simonton, then Ocotillo to finish things up.  The idea of them charging us a "clean-up" fee of 8K was tossed around but I shot that down rally quick!  What I said was that they knew what they were getting into when they signed on with us and said they could get it done in a reasonable amount of time without us paying any extra.  And if they can't, there are at least 4 other companies lined up salivating just waiting to take their place...and personally, I have no problems with going that route if need be.  So, I expect the weeds to be done by the end of May.  Bob, the H&N boss for our community will be at our meetings as well, so, If anyone would like to come and speak with him, he will be there.
