One thing to note is that the people who are still within their one year warranty on their house should go back to Ryland and complain. You need to take pictures and keep bugging them and even send things to corporate b/c you should get everything you paid for with your particular home and lot! You at least have something to stand on with the warranty and all.
I was afraid that people would come to the HOA and wonder why their house did not get done. We did the best we could with the money we were given and hopefully next year we can finish the job with some of the extra funds I hope we have collected by then.
Jason correct me if I am wrong here, but weren't we only given the $1000 to repair the common areas and older areas? It sounds to me that Ryland, AKA Jenni Bruggmen, is telling these people that money was already given to the HOA to repair ALL the yards. If they(Ryland) think that the $1000 is going towards the new homes and the people calling in about their yards that are still under warranty they are WRONG. We need to tell Jenni this is wrong and that the money that was granted to us from them was for all the grounds that have been around since the beginning of the development, for instance around the lake. That is what you you stated in your letter to Corporate and that is what they agreed to try and fix for us.
I am not saying the HOA should not help the new homeowners get their ''fair share'' but we need to approach it as a separate action. I have talked to many of the new neighbors that have complained to Judi and Jenni only to be put off or told that Ryland would not fix it. Ryland obviously takes no pride in their work and can care less about customer satisfaction. So the only way anything will get done is if we apply pressure. Case in point, the way Jason did it with getting that $1000 to repair the grounds. He had to be the ''squeaky wheel'' and it worked! It is sad that in this day and age it still has to be this way but we have to deal with this reality.
