early warning system

The city will NOT be using the BASF or any system like that. The City Emergency Response Team has selected the Radio and Telephone system.

For the amount of money they spent on the Trillium Parking Lot the city would be able to have an alert system and a mobile command center.

Its good to know that the city has a plan in place for severe weather, but I think a siren would be much faster at alerting people. As soon as we hear the siren we would know there is bad weather comming and we would take shelter. Having to listen to a phone call would waste valuable time. Just my opinion

you know thats really ashame, the system the have will not work, hell why spend the $$ for a radio station on 1670am when its the exact same thing that riverview has on 1650 and its all noaa weather radio and broadcast out of white lake. the siren system would have worked much better and probably at a cheaper cost than the radio and 911 call system. will be hard to get info when your power could be out and your ph,s also. oh well i,ll keep a eye to the sky . would like to have been a spotter, but never got my ham license. dittos
