Recent court documents filed in the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge condemnation case suggest that an alternate plan calls for a tunnel from GI to around Pennsyvania Road. Does anyone have anymore information about this?

I saw this talked about on a Comcast local access channel. Gov. Grandholm said if the take over of the toll bridge is unsuccessful she will finance a tunnel between Wyandotte and the Island. Why do we have to pay for this convenience?

It was all over the radio and television today. Jenny from the block was at a fundraiser on the Island tonite and she promised a State funded free tunnel for GI residents. She made these announcements from Wally Prechtor's this afternoon.
