WE MUST FIRST REALIZE THAT WE AS A CITY HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AT HAND, CRIME & MURDER. WHERE IS IT COMING FROM, WE DO UNDERSTAND THAT MAJORITY OF OR CRIME & MURDER COMES FROM THE AGEE OF 14 TO 28, WHY IS THIS? I HAVE AN OPINIONATED ANSWER, FOR 1) THEY LACK EDUCATION,IN AREAS THAT ARE NEEDED TO SURVIVE IN TODAYS WORK-FORCE WHETHER ITS WHITE OR BLUE COLLAR WORK. 2) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, THAT WILL HELP THEM SURVIVE IN TODAYS ECONOMY.
I EMPHASIZE ON THIS ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM 22YRS. OF AGE AND I CANT FIND EMPLOYMENT IN THE CITY OF DETROIT, FOR MISTAKES THAT I MADE WHEN I WAS A MINOR OR TRAFFIC TICKETS. I AND OTHERS CONSIDER MYSELF ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS, BUT THERE ARE SO MANY TECHNICALITIES THAT STOPS THE YOUTH PERFORMANCE IN LIFE IN DETROIT. I BELIEVE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE SOME OF THE ISSUES WE HAVE IN DETROIT IF THESE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN HAD DECENT PAYING JOBS. SOME OF THE BEST WOULD BE COPS LIVE IN THE CITY BUT DUE TO TECHNICALITIES, THE JOB IS NOT GRANTED. WHEN HAVE YOU INDIVIDUALS WHO LACK EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS ALL OVER THE CITY.

HOW DO WE SOLVE THE PROBLEM GIVE THE 14 TO 18 AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION, MAKE SURE THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEIR DOING IN CLASS, AND EXPAND THEIR VOCABULARY WITH SPELLING WORDS THROUGH K THRU 12, IN ALL THEIR GETTINGS LET THEM GET UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THEIR DOING. AN GIVE 19 TO 28 JOBS THAT WILL GIVE THEM THE OPPORTINITY TO ADVANCE IN THE ECONOMY, AND THEY WILL BE SO BUSY WORKING THEY WONT HAVE TIME TO COMMIT CRIME, I DID'NT GET INTO DETAIL BUT BUT I HAVE MORE ON THIS ISSUE THAT HURTING THE CITY OF DETROIT BADLY.

Good Idea...

I had a hard time reading your post b/c of the capital letters you used (online we call this SCREAMING), but you're alright. I agree with you in some aspects. I also want to note that our crime rate has decreased dramtically in these past 10 years(according to police stats and media),who and what is responsible for this(the decrease), who really knows...but Detroit is not the same Detroit it used to be 10-15 years ago. Yes, we need to educate and continue to educate our young people, but I dont believe we can lay blame there. I believe blame lies in laziness, unwillingness, and flat out ''I dont care it dont concern me right now'' attitudes. What happened to the ''old days'' when neighbors stuck together? What happened to ''it takes a village to raise a child''? It's this new generation that lacks morals and respect, thats the bottom line. Let's STOP blaming parents for their adult(18-24) children committing crimes and START blaming these adult children.....and taking parental disciplinary control from parents is not the answer..that's how these certain 18-24 year olds became who they are today. Let's stop pointing the finger and start accepting responsibility. Awaiting your response..
