JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Los Angeles City Councilmember Ruth Galanter is seeking applicants to fill immediate vacancy on her staff. The following position is currently available:

Field Deputy

Serves as Councilmember's liaison to community leaders and groups, including Neighborhood Councils. Principal purpose is to improve eht quality of life for residents of the Sixth Council District by solving community problems. Works extensively with city agencies and departments, community groups and community leaders. Public sector experience a major plus. Must have strong communication and computer skills. Spanish fluency desired. Hours include evenings and weekends. Position based in field office (Van Nuys and/or Sun Valley).

Councilmember Ruth Galanter represents the Sixth District, located in the northeast San Fernando Valley. This office serves the approximately 235,000 residents of the communities of Sun Valley, Pacoima, Panorama City, North Hollywood, Arleta, Van Nuys and West Van Nuys through two field offices, one in Van Nuys and one in Sun Valley, as well as the main office in Los Angeles City Hall.
