A member attended the Board of Ed meeting recently, concerning the proposal for two schools grades 5-8 at Harrington & Hartford. The meeting was very well attended by the community. So much so, that the board president offered to have the board vote on the matter tonight rather than wait until next week. Long story short: All but 2 board members voted to reject the proposal. There was an encompassing study done by focus groups, and much of that was quite informative and useful. It was recommended that the board utilize that info to better the situation (of transition and productivity) under the already well functioning grade/school system we have in place, and not fracture our large community into two.
