I moved to Middletown Village in October. I haven't had any problems with the community until lately. It seems that people like to park on the streets instead of the assigned parking spots or the overflow spots. I don't appreciate that I have to be careful when I back out of my spot not to hit someone that shouldn't be parked in the street. I can understand if there are no spots anywhere but, when there are available spots just a few feet away I think it is inconsiderate to park on the street. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything that can be done about it?

Report illegal parking to police
I recoomend contacting the New Catsle County Police ''Non-Emergency'' phone to report the illegal parking near your home. They can go out and ticket the cars and maybe even tow them away. The number is 302-378-8399. |

illegal parking
Actually the number for all police non emergency dispatch is 573-2800, that number goes into the 911 center & is how complaints get entered for police dispatch. The 378-8399 number is for the Southern Patrol Office, which is not always available to handle calls for service, and when they do, they still have to call into the 911 center to have an officer dispatched. |

Agreed
I was witness to this on Saturday. A car was parked illegally on Vincent Circle and a neighbor backed out of his driveway right into the side of the car. Luckily there wasn't any major damage and they were able to work out amongst themselves. However, more cars were parked there on Sunday. |
