MINI BIKES - SO ANNOYING

Posted in: Middletown Village
They don't come...

I called the cops on Friday and noone came because I still heard the mini-bikes. *sigh*

We've been throwing around moving as well, but I think that if enough people got tired of the behavior of some inconsiderates and it was a known unacceptable behavior, that it would cease.

I feel that a lot of people aren't clear on what's acceptable and what's not. I'm not just talking about a societal definition, but a locational definition. It is NOT okay to ride mini-bikes up and down the street 200 times a day in a suburban neighborhoods where there are stay at home moms, like myself trying to get my kids down for a nap. It is NOT alright for me to hear YOUR music on the inside of MY house when all of my windows are closed, and for that matter, yours are too! Ridiculous. Just ridiculous! In the newsletters that we may or may not get (what are they, quarterly? LOL!), there is never any strongly worded guidelines for this community. I think there should be.
Bike rider location.

If anyone cares to talk with the parents of the black kid with the red mini-bike, they live across the street from my place. I also have a State cop that lives next door to me, so I can ask him if they are breaking any sort of code or law. If anyone wants the house number, I can check after work today.

Mickey
definitely illegal

Mickey,

They are definitely illegal and it is only a matter of time before one of these kids are hurt or killed when riding these. No helmets and are way to low to the ground so that you cannot see them when driving your car. Would be nice to talk to the State Police Officer.

I too called the NC County police the day three of these cycles were racing in the back of the neighborhood. I currently work from home and I was completely annoyed by constant noise. Truthfully I could care less if one of these kids gets hurt, serves them right for breaking the law. I was completely horrified to see the younger children who are innocent bystanders come so close to these older kids. I hope the Civic Association and the Police come down on the parents of these older kids. They are ultimately responsible for buying the bikes and allowing their kids to break the law.
