The Chinese government is shutting down Internet Cafes. We are not be surprised by this, in fact almost expect it.
But here in our own backyard OUR Town Government is doing the same thing.
Braintree's own Internet Cafe, Neighhorhood Link ''Talk About It'' has been shut down in the same way as the Chinese Internet Cafes are being shut down.
The timing is impeccable.
Right at the start of a campaign season where a 2 1/2 Over ride question is on the ballot as well as a question on what kind of government the taxpaying, voters would like to have.
Braintree elected officials should come out with a public explanation. BELD, being the hosting ISP also has to do a lot of explaining to its customers.
Verizon called me today and offered me a free 30-day trial of their DSL complete with modem. If during the 30 days I want to cancel, I can and they will pay the return postage for the modem. $29.95 per month and they guarantee the price so long as I remain a Verizon customer.
You know what I told them ?
Send the equipment, I will try it, but I prefer to remain loyal to BELD and plan to return the equipment. They agreed and will send the equipment.
Like I said. BELD needs to come clean with a public explanation and they have 30 days to do it.
