Posted in: Millwood

ATTENTION MILLWOOD DEVELOPMENT.....WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THE PLAYGROUND????....WE WERE ABLE, A LONG,LONG TIME AGO, TO GO TO THE PLAYGROUND AREA FOR A LITTLE FUN..SLIDES,SWINGS AND BENCHES...NOW WE GO FOR TICK, SPIDERS AND RASHES...I DO BELIEVE WE PAY FOR THE GRASS CUTTING OR WEED WACKING IN THAT AREA...AND IT IS A PRICEY YEARLY FEE FROM WHAT I RECALL...IF THE COMPANY DOES NOT WANT TO CUT ALL THE DEVELOPMENTS PROPERTY, LET ME KNOW AND MY COMPANY WILL GLADLY CUT THE DEVELOPMENTS GRASS FOR THE PRICE THEY GET PAID....OR LESS...I BELIEVE OUR CHILDREN WOULD LIKE TO ONCE AGAIN USE THE PLAYGROUND....I SEE THE SAME CRAP IN BEAR, DELAWARE COMMUNITIES AND THEY HAVE NO ASSOCIATION DUES...LETS STRAIGHTEN IT UP...HAVE SOME PRIDE MILLWOOD

We actually have had the playground on our radar for a while now.  The playground got pretty overgrown and nasty looking in the late summer.  I actually picked a few weeds myself only to be overwhelmed by how bad it was.  The board discussed the issue and agreed that a better weed blocking barrier needed to be installed vs treating the existing weeds.  This process involves more effort and equipment.  What has slowed that work down is the ground back by the playground. It is extremely wet and taking heavy trucks back there was going to tear up the ground.  By this point winter wasn't far and we decided to wait for a good winter freeze to complete the job.  We are still waiting for that to happen!  We appreciate you bringing the topic up because others might also have been wondering what the deal was.  Thanks!
