BUSY BEAVER Poet Laureate
A student/person who engages in versification (vursufu ?‘keyshun) - the practice of writing verse.

Campaign Neighborhood ?– CFNBA - The Busy Beaver Public Art project continues to identify ways our students, youth and young adults can be a part of this project.

In addition to joining the Busy Beaver Club and receiving points towards the Busy Beaver Volunteerism Portfolio, Busy Beaver Book Club and the Busy Beaver Southern Serenade, Saturday, May 27, 2005.

As of Tuesday, February 10, 2004, the Busy Beaver Poet Laureate Contest has been added as another dimension of public involvement.

CONTEST
Students in three (3) levels will be selected as the 2004 Busy Beaver Club Poet Laureates. They are:

 Middle School
 High School
 Post High School through Undergraduate

ENTRY/ENROLLMENT
The following is necessary for enrollment:

 A student ?– 5th Grade thru College, skilled in making poetry; one who has a natural or particular genius; the author of a poem; an imaginative thinker or writer may enter the contest.

 The Poet Laureate applicant may submit his/her name or someone else may.

 Each applicant MUST support his/her application with two submissions of work/poetry completed and a recommendation by someone knowledgeable of their work.

 If applicant is in school, a Grade Point Average or Letter grade. If out of school, last highest Grade Point Average/GPA or Letter Grade.

 Each applicant must submit a ?“poem?” regarding the Busy Beaver Public Art Project and include the two beaver critters ?– walking design and upright design in the poem.

Background information regarding the Busy Beaver Public Art Project is necessary for creation of the poem. It is part of the information you will receive from the Project Director.

BUSY BEAVER POET LAUREATES
Winners of the contest will write monthly articles for the Busy Beaver Club Newsletter or Busy Beaver eMonthly.

...Each winner is part of the Official Welcome Wagon Delegation at all events.

...Each winner will be in their school newsletter or special announcement.

...Each winner will receive an Award of Recognition and Achievement.

The Milwaukee Courier will ''write up'' the winner(s).
