We moved into the neighborhood about a month ago and I wanted to ask our neighbors first hand: Besides the up-keep of the pools and pond, what does $25/month/household in association dues cover? I have received nothing through the mail from Gasser, etc outlining their purpose.

Dues pay for- a lot!

Your 25.00 per month helps pay for the maintaining of the common area, the pool, the pond, the clubhouse, someone to book and clean the aforementioned, the electricity for all the light poles in the neighborhood, our management company, new pool keys most years, a directory every other year, newsletters-the only thing we don't pay for is this web site!

Does a budget exist?

Every time someone questions the association dues, it seems to bring out some sensitivities. As homeowners who agree to these dues, we have the right to question and ask where the dues are applied. I myself have been guilty of not being involved enough to attend meetings or inquire specifically where these are applied. How much do we pay someoone for booking OUR facilities, how are WE determining the contracts for services like grass cutting of the common areas and pool maintenance, etc.? Do we look at the costs of Gasser Mgmt on an annual basis? It seems as there has been a good job done of dispersing the funds, but defensiveness attracts suspiciousness. How do WE get a copy of the association budget and can you post the meeting schedule so we are more involved?
