I've been doing some research into Neighborhood Link services in regards to this Forum.
The Webmaster, and his designees, have access to the IP addresses of the various posters here.
Much like I have access to IP's on the other site (www.WilloughbyStation.com). Basically what this means is that you are not anonymous. They know when I do not fill in the optional Author line simply by tying the IP into others I've posted under my name. The only thing that is uncertain for them regards TDS DSL. A power surge through the modem will mean that your modem will obtain a different IP address from TDS, unless you pay extra for a Static IP.
What that basically means, if the Board knows who I am, they know who their defenders are, and cannot play innocent on that. They also know that if they reveal the identity of one person, the dominoes will start to fall and it could get embarrassing for them.
I'm still trying to get an answer from NL as to whether or not the Webmaster (Will Sellers) has access to information that will tie in a person's registered NL username (required to post) and the posting that person does. Again, it could get ugly for the Board.
Will that stop me from the occaisional posting? No. If they reveal me, I'll take steps to reveal their friends (or possibly them?).
Stand up and have a nice day.
