Right on-

As a plastic hater from way back, I say we need to get back to the days when nary a thing was plastic. I well remember times when everything came in paper or cloth bags, tin cans or glass bottles. Many of these containers were never thrown away. Cloth bags were re-used or made into other things. Many folks saved large tin cans like coffee containers and large glass bottles or jars. Tin, cloth or paper disappears in time. Most plastic never does.
Plastic is made from petroleum. Cut plastic production and save a lot of oil.
