Muscatine

Had to run out to Menard's today for paint (woohoo!), and I hadn't noticed these past few months how nicely the outside of the mall is coming along. It's starting to look like a real mall. The inside. . . well, that's another (sad) story.

So. . . that got me wondering. . . anybody know when we can expect some decent stores to be opening up there besides Penney's and Elder Bierman's?

On that same note, after shopping for paint in our typically over-crowded Menard's, I am also really looking forward to that new store opening this year, or very early next! I guess with our mall being promised to be a place we can shop locally for basic necessities and what not, I am anticipating actually being able to take my kids shopping someplace around here, without having to drive all the way to the QC or IC.

Anybody know anything?

Nope, not a thing

But I hope we get some good stores, too. I'm in Davenport every day, 'cause I work there, but I sure don't want to load the kids up in the car on my day off and drive up there.

Rumor

The last thing I heard about the mall was that they were trying to turn it into a strip mall so that you can only access the stores from the front/outside doors. Oh...how I long for the mall of the past...fountains...pumping tokens into arcade machines...alas poor mall, I knew him well, Horatio...

Ooooohhhhh.......

I fondly remember all the hours of my misspent youth getting kicked out of the mall with my friends.....those were the days!!
