Frosty Morn
As I approached the early dawn
walking briskly through the morn
frost and fog rise in the air
stinging eyes
and tears freeze there.
Surveying all the country side
watching cardinals red bodies fly
a grey squirrel scurries through dry leaves
hoping his breakfast to retrieve.
My senses fill with joy and life
putting off the world of strife-
gently soothing heart and mind
walking often---peace I find.
Not only peace of heart and self
As wonderful memories come off the shelf
and with the memories comes desire
embers explodes--heart's on fire.
So now the frost is no longer felt
for warmth has caused the ice to melt
springing steps pick up the pace--
I'm ready for the daily race..
