Not a good day

I went in for my marrow extraction Wednesday and things really happened fast.
The Doctor was running late, the drilling of the bone took longer than usual and I had lots of time to think about the marrow extraction that is usually painful and this time was not.
My blood pressure went up due to the stress and after they finished up I passed out for a few minutes.
After a ride in a ambulance to Trinity east and a check up with a heart monitor, plus blood tests it was determined that I had a rapid drop in blood pressure when I relaxed. This resulted in a very low blood pressure and slow heart beat.
I was released after I showed them I could walk and tell them my age, birthdate, plus social security number.
Boy there sure were a bunch of wide eyed people in the room when I woke up so I guess I was in real good hands. It is kind of funny now, but those people were real serious and I bet they don't forget me for a long time.

Kenn.

It's obviously not time for you to leave us yet :).

I'm sorry to hear what you went through, and I bet it was equally hard on your wife too.

I know you're going to have both good and bad days, and I do hope the good outnumber the bad.

Thank you for keeping us updated and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

P.S. The wood gifts you made were beautiful! I really appreciated the pictures...you do really beautiful work!

Take care, and keep in touch.

Glad you R ok, kenn

I've been through a few surgeries. I know how scary it is & I know how our mind can raise our blood pressure because of the fear of the unknown.
I was chosen to be a bone marrow donor to a person very dear to me. Unfortunatly, I wasn't able to follow through. I'm glad you came through & hope you & your family can stay strong.

Thank you

And it was a very scary experience for both of us.
My wife was real excited when she beat the ambulance to the hospital because they did not leave until I was all hooked up to a heart moniter, blood pressure moniter, oxygen, and a I.V.
I guess you are right that I still have some things to do and that is good to know.
linlou, glad you liked the pictures and I am sure the family will like the presents because that is what they asked for.
