Do any of you have Christmas traditions you would like to share? When I was a little girl my mother would always spend a day (sometimes two) baking cookies and Christmas treats. When we girls were old enough we would get to help. Mostly washing the dishes she would dirty, but we got to stir and add ingredients and put sprinkles on and such. It is something I will always remember. It was such fun and such a neat time with my mother. I always looked forward to when she would bake and we could help. I try to keep this tradition going with my sons but the oldest isn?’t in to it so much. He likes to help his Dad decorate the outside of the house. My youngest and I we bake about 25-30 dozen cookies each year and give them out to family and friends. It?’s a great tradition we both enjoy. And all because my mother did this with me. Any of you have any tradition memories?

I Am A Helper

My wife has a tradition of fixing all kinds of ''treats'' for her family and has always included my family as well. She dips pretzels in chocolate, makes peanut clusters, peanut butter ritz crackers dipped in white and chocolate, snacks using about four breakfast cereals and adding nuts, garlic chips etc. Can't think of the name of it as I write this. Then she boxes everything up and we deliver to our family members. I help with the delivery but she does all the work. My wife is the best.

Anne...so glad to hear from you!

I've been thinking about you! Glad you posted! ''HUGG!'' Homemade pies were a big deal in our household. Lots & lots of pies!
Mom found a Crisco pie crust recipe, decided to substitute butter. One of us put in the flour, salt, etc. & the stick of butter. Took 2 knives and cut the butter into squares. Another crumbled that butter into the flour mixture to the perfect consistency. Then another had the privlege of adding ''warm water'' & kneading the dough to the perfect consistency. Another rolled the dough out. Our pies, especially the crust was famous in our circle of friends & family!
Thanks for reminding me how much fun that was. Merry Christmas to you & your family, Anne. You are such an awesome mommy! Keep it up!
