I can appreciate your taking exception to that one statement I made. I look at the past and the future in two different lights. While the lessons of the past will have some carry over value the future is fast changing and offers new challenges which demand fresh insight and relevant thinking. Because of that the approach one must take will inherently be different than one would take in the past. Thus a lesson learned is just that. The future awaits and as one gets older, our urge to move on takes on different meanings. One must never give up when faced with the challenges of life no matter at what stage we face them. In my older age, I just look at them differently.

I do appreciate your comments. You are a wise lady and have much to offer the neighborhood.

lionjack, you have a valid point

My husband & I have been told that we are ''no longer allowed to buy the newest gadgets available'', they laugh & throw their hands in the air when we just don't get it.
''While the lessons of the past will have some carry over value the future is fast changing and offers new challenges which demand fresh insight and relevant thinking. Because of that the approach one must take will inherently be different than one would take in the past''. YOU ARE SO VERY RIGHT, You are so very wrong! We need to learn to adapt, but only to a certain extent, LJ.
Right is right, wrong is wrong. It's up to us to teach our ''future fledglings'' that there are times that THE RIGHT THING TO DO might ''NOT BE politically correct, & to CUT TO THE CHASE, DAM* IT!'' If they don't hear it from us, who will they hear it from?
The world is changing. Fresh insight & relevant thinking have a place in the world, LJ. I agree that we need to listen. That doesn't mean that we need to roll over & hand the world to them on a silver platter w/ the lies they have internalized in their world. It is up to us to share OUR world, OUR morals & hope that some of that will make a difference! Our children may not know it yet, but they hear us when we stand our ground. I SURE DID! I will die standing up to our society, & my children, if necessary, asking others to follow the 10 commandments. I refuse to change because of ''fresh insight & relevant thinking'', I don't think you will, LJ. ''The future awaits and as one gets older, our urge to move on takes on different meanings.'' What kind of future can there be without love & respect?
I only challenge you, LJ, because I believe in you & hope you will continue to challenge our ''fledglings''...not give up. You have it in you. Don't give up?
