Brittany Spears made her long-awaited comeback Sunday night at the VMA's in Las Vegas. Citing potential revenue loss in tourism, the Gov. of Nevada apologized that not EVERYTHING that happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
That's the only piece of humor I can attempt to muster up this week. What a depressing week in news and entertainment. Our gov't continues to think we're morons and lie to us, Bush continues to follow ''God'' as if he talks to him regularly. 6 inbred, dispicable, piece of s**t white people kidnap and brutalize a 20 year old black woman for a week, and the only reason it's a hate crime is because they used the ''N'' word while raping her. OJ Simpson still plagues society,
even after basically cutting the heads off of 2 people. Social Service organizations let another kid down, who will have a horrible life now because of some ingrate bitch causing him brain damage.
What a ''Hooter's'' girl wore on a plane, and what Janet Jackson didn't wear 4 years ago, where the pressing issues in the Supreme Court.
Nobody gives a s**t about Iraq(or we wouldn't be there), or about terrorism, for that matter, or we would have forced our gov't to get Bin Laden. Healthcare is a joke - unless you're rich. We can't build a memorial in N.Y 6 years after the fact(the Eiffel Tower was built in a year...by hand...in 1888.)
This nation has fallen people. Fallen FAR. I can appreciate the local tone and necessity that this discussion page offers my fellow Muskies, but I feel that it is imperative that we all start thinking outside the box, outside the county or state, and think. not just about the guy next door. But about the guy next door that you'll never see. Because while you may never know them, you may be profoundly affected by something they do.
