debt as a % of income and/or net worth is manageable as long as the % is not too high (not managable).

as a general rule, the lower the % of debt to income/net worth, the stronger the financial position is of the entity.

Govt

Unlike the government, I can't print up money when I'm in a shortage. The government isn't interested in balancing the budget. It gives them sometyhing to fight about...like when my wife and I look at our checkbook. We just look at it...we don't balance it. I guess the govt and I are alike in that sense. We just look at at and can't believe the waste...then ignore it...until my wife and I need a distraction to fight over.
