the meeting last nite showed some hope but if (postal experts)have to think about fruitlands loss of post office for at least 5years and possibly longer or never over the new site @ city hall that is twice the size and handicap usable and more convenient parking and the same rent as old one;we need public and congressional support to help experts with decision.City Council and Mayor have been trying but info from experts haven't been very clear.SUPPORT FRUITLANDS NEED FOR A POST OFFICE

Is it REALLY needed?
So what happens if Fruitland doesn't get a post office? Does Fruitland need a post office? I've been living in Fruitland for 12 years and (before the 6/1 tornader) can only remember going there...maybe twice. Maybe other people used it more than me, I dunno. The mail dropped off there still went to Muscatine for processing...didn't it? Somebody please educate me as to the importance of Fruitland having a Post Office.

Only reason I can think of
is ''because we always had one.'' Everyone thought it was the end of the world when the Muscatine Post Office moved to its present location but it seems we all lived thru it.
One day Fruitland will be Muscatine anyway so what difference does it make?
