Hello people. As you all know, I'm crazy. However, I would like to take this opportunity to gladly announce my candidacy as a write-in candidate for President of the United States of America.
I want you all to know that I am fully aware that I will never be President of the U.S., although the current holder of that office gives me hope.
I am passionate of my beliefs, like many who have come before me, but that passion does not nor will not out weigh the words of the people. WE THE PEOPLE, not you or me the people. The Constitution is and must be the common ground on which we stand. Our understanding of it's words and our interpretation of their meaning must be substantially similar, fore our reticence will surely be our destructor. The days of pointing fingers of blame and speaking words of disdain for our opponents must give way to an unending desire to achieve a peace and a harmony for all of mankind, not just those who directly impact our lives. While the inevitability of that goal may seem obvious, its central meaning should be evident in all of us.
The seemingly insurmountable problems that face our society can be overcome if we the people of these united states do exactly that: stand united as one person. One person made up of many different colors. Many different beliefs. Many different reasons why we think that this is the greatest country on Earth and why we are so passionate about defending our honor, our posterity and our liberty. We defend our honor because we are a country of leaders. A country of men and women that believe, despite our differences, that we all have a contribution to make. We defend our posterity in the hope that our children and theirs will have a safe, healthy and free society in which to prosper and grow in ways we were never able to achieve let alone aspire to. And we defend our liberty to ensure that our power to act on injustices against our personal freedoms and choices is upheld, so long as those freedoms do not impede the progress of the greater good, which should be determined by the total majority and not the majority of those that seek to monopolize these ideals and principles for their own benefit.
We the people. We are the ones that can make change. We are the ones that can demand change. We are the ones that need change. Not a change to what I believe as a whole, but to what I believe to be the wants and needs of all Americans. Quite frankly not to be lied to, misled, coerced or frightened into a way of life that is harmful to the honor, posterity and liberty that once made this country the greatest in the world. Those are the words whose meanings can make this country great again.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Cory B. Connor, candidate.
