I'd like to say I'm amazed by the Morning Sun city councils shenanigans in regards to the house to help homeless kids, but I'm not. The homeless in this country(40% veterans) have been forgotten for a long time.
It sounds to me that these kids are all pretty good kids, but as is the case with most homeless children, their parents suck.
What really bothers me is the secrecy in which the council is holding their meetings, kicking out the clerk, not keeping records, etc...I really hope they change their tune, for the kids' sakes, not theirs. If not I hope they do get sued in Fed. Court. Seriously. What kind of mean-spirited people deny kids the opportunity to succeed? Deny them a place to SLEEP and STAY WARM at night? The fact that they're being so secretive about it speaks volumes about these council members. They suck!!

please

don't lump my ol' Iowa ass with those dumbF---'s in Morning sun. I wouldn't handle it the way they are handleing it.

There is alot of good compassion here in Iowa just not alot in Morning Sun or so it appears.

Wow...thats great

Lets deny these kids an opportunity to have any sort of future at all. Their parents wrote them off, why shouldn't everyone else?? Unbelievable. It's in everybody's best interest to help these kids get an education. Maybe the city council would rather they not have access to an education, or have the basic necessities to succeed in school. What do they think these kids are going to see as the only other option they have?? Are they consiously trying to turn these kids into career criminals??

Agreed

I hope the threat of having to explain themselves in front of a federal judge will cause these people to think about what they are doing. If there is a side to their position other than ''not in my neighborhood'', I'd like to hear what it is.
