You make some very good points. In the time we grew up America and the world was a different place. My Grandfather kept a rifle mounted on the back window of his pick-up. I doubt you'd see that today. Anyway I really have a hard time believing it's all the parents fault. By a sure number of voices show me the parent that teaches a kid to shoot other kids. I would hope that every parent tells their children with the same vigar the dangers as well as the benefits of gun use. It is a very important step in responsiability. However we're left with the fact that to many kids miss this message. Why? I can only guess, but suggest irresponsiability breeds irresponsiability and reckless behavior. Kids don't respect guns, because parents do not respect guns. The gun the hung on your home's wall left a ring of respect for the parents followed the very rule that had been set. That is how parents fail children today. Don't drink and drive, while getting pulled over for a DUI after picking up the kids from football practice. Don't make fun of Billy, while sitting on the computer ridiculing your neighbor. There is so much irony in the things we don't teach, but show our kids.
