I read

something about that somewhere else. The surprising thimg is how far Israeli planes penetrated into Syria without Syrian defense systems working. Are they using Russian systems? Is China also using the same systems? If so, that should scare the crap out of them.

I think we're all lucky..

that China continues to remain, for the most part, silent about the whole situation over there. They could propagate a lot of problems for all of us if they chose to.

I can't help but wonder if Syria, for whatever reason, allowed this to happen to incite other radicals against us.
I don't think that's a stretch.

* Over 400,000 kids have up-to-date immunizations.
* School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war.
* Over 1,500 schools have been renovated and rid of the weapons stored there so education can occur.
* The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off-loaded from ships faster.
* Drinking water and electricity is being restored.
* 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed, compared to 35% before the war.
* Elections are taking place in many cities, and city councils are in place.
* Sewer lines are being installed.
* Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs.
* An interim constitution has been signed.
* Textbooks that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years.

Same feeling

I had the same feeling and it has never left me. Deep down I feel the reason we are there is oil and I will feel we are gaining if & when our troops start coming home with none sent back to replace them.
All I see is a lot of money that we do not have being spent and our grandkids being in debt up to their necks.
