I realize that everyone is entitled to his opinion, and I respect this. I also hope that you will all respect mine as you read this letter. And that's why I feel compelled to say something about infantile control freaks. Walmart frequently avers its support of democracy and its love of freedom. But one need only look at what Walmart is doing -- as opposed to what it is saying -- to understand its true aims. As I often like to put it, every so often, you'll see Walmart lament, flog itself, cry mea culpa for seeking to create new (and reinforce existing) prejudices and misconceptions, and vow never again to be so longiloquent. Sadly, it always reverts to its old behavior immediately afterwards, making me think that it is planning to invent a new moral system that legitimizes its desire to control your bank account, your employment, your personal safety, and your mind. This does not bode well for the future, because hostile heretics simply pass through this world sowing the seeds of evil. It may mean well but we must convince the government to clamp down hard on its apothegms. As mentioned above, however, that is not enough. It is necessary to do more. It is necessary to confront and reject all manifestations of feudalism. Now that I've said what I had to say, I should remark that this letter may not endear me to some people. Indeed, it may even cost me a friend or two. However, friends do not let friends get trampled by profligate vagrants like Walmart. The truth is the truth and we pay a steep price whenever we ignore it.
