So how are you related to LaVerne and Dorrie? When I was in high school I worked for Wilson's Shoe store as a stockboy. Of course you know Dorrie worked there part time and LaVerne was in the back doing the shoe repair. My parents were very good friends with them, always getting together to play cards. Their son, Dave was a groomsman at my 1st wedding. Just curious, cousins? Brother? I haven't seen Dave in years now. Doing construction I think.

LaVerne-

was my dad's half brother. You may have learned from them that my dad and LaVerne went through WW2 together. Both were at the same airbases, same time the whole war. The mighty 8th. army air corp as it was then known.

I remember him as such a gentle

soul. Always had a kind word to say, always had time to stop and listen. Dorrie, she was such a silly nut. I loved her. I could always make her laugh. LaVerne laid carpet in our house more than a couple of times. I see Pearl up at Ace a lot too.

Yeah-

He was pretty easy going. He took me hunting a few times when I was starting out. I musta been about 11. He laid carpet and tile a lot. My dad worked with him awhile when dad was laid off.
