As a kid I loved

Red Skelton. I used to try and mimic his characters to make my family laugh. I was also a huge fan of George Burns. He told the story once of an insurance salesman that came to his door and tried to sell him a twenty year insurance policy. George said to him ''Kid at my age I don't even buy green bananas.'' He and Jack Benny were best of friends.

How Many Of You

went to the Amuseu theater to watch the Three Stooges on Saturday? 15 cents to get in and you could get two big bags of popcorn for 10 cents.
I remember

going to the movie theater on Sat. afternoons for a quarter. Then you could get two pieces of chocolate licorice wrapped in a paper towel for a dime. Life was good!!!

Comedians, past & present

I have to admit that the comedians shared here were a bit before my time. It doesn't mean I didn't & don't appreciate the humor they shared with the world.
Not one person mentioned Phyllis Diller! She was crass, she was funny. My very favorite joke of hers was: (quoting from my memory here, not a direct quote, mind you!)...''I ALWAYS KEEP A DRAWER FULL of get well cards, darling, (puff, puff, blow)!. When I get unannounced company, I look around at my messy place, run to my drawer and place those cards all over, (as I cough loudly and say, ''I'll be right there, darling'')!. I then open the door gracefully, coughing and say, ''how kind of you to visit, please excuse the place? I've been ill as you can see!''. WHAT BRILLIANCE! Maybe you gotta be a woman to appreciate that thought!
My generation LOVED the humor of Gilda Radner, ''Rosanna Rosanna Dana'' & Jim Carey, ''The Church Lady''. Edgy enough humor, not over the top like what comedians are today. I'm telling you, if Rosanna could have lived long enough, she & the Church Lady could have really had a ''political debate'' worth listening to!
LET'S GO THERE, GUYS! Pick your favorite 2 past comedians that could go head to head in a debate? HMMM? What would your choice be & what would they say?
