I leave for a few months in hopes all the crap will stop and see it's still the same.  

So should I just leave and never come back in hopes for some respectful conversations?

Someone once told me to stop feeding the trolls and it worked. So may I suggest others try also.

I think the site has changed a lot. Efforts from some very good people are trying to do just that.

Will they succeed? Maybe not. The site and this town our much like America. A melting pot. I think we see differences in the things one person finds important to post vs that of another. Some may look at the site as a chnce to play a role in their community. Others may look at it as just a escape from reality. Regardless of what we view the site as, it's for sure the differences out number the posters and we end up with what you see.

I haven't read where anyone is trying to change this site and make it better. If they are the more power to them but good luck. The problem is one person will never be able to change this site and it'll take all users.

Not quite sure where you see this site getting better. I didn't go past the second page and am afraid to after seeing what's on the first two. It's the same old garbage going on and users are at each others throats. Beginning to wonder if weeding threw 20 garbage posts to read the one legit post is really worth it anymore. JMO

I didn't say better. I think it's changed. I think BB (not Bigbrother) had a great post going. I think SV wrote a very funny and delightful poem. I think tlou speaks from the heart and wears her emotions on her sleeve. That's not a bad thing. You see DF make a public anouncement for mail carriers. Chib sent a family message to lionJack. And Y2J offered to cleanse our sins. Can't get much more neighborly then that.

True I continued to try to convince people Bush was the root of all evil, but that's because I believe he is.

It didn't take three pages of reading to find any of this, it's all on the front page.
