more chosen

language IS limited - one word can have many meanings &/or points of view. regarding 'hypothetical':

i am saying you are using a basic definition: (1)''an assumption or concession made for the sake of argument''. this leaves open the possibility of a loaded, biased, or prejudiced point of view that is not a valid question.

i like def (2)''a tentative assumption made in order to draw out and test its logical consequences''. this implies an inquiry where the hypothesis is tested against facts/data that are random (fair) - resulting in a theory or even a law.

Just want to point out:

Re: your answer to my question no. 3:
1. It is highly likley that there actually are some ''crooks'' that either monitor this board or even engage on it, let alone the stray ''crook'' that accesses information from time to time coincidently through Google. Anything posted on the world wide web is no longer private.
2. No, I don't think you are a secret agent, but there is nothing to prevent medling/do-gooder anti gun crowd organizations from searching the web for this kind of information and using it to create lists of ''nefarious'' gunowners. All they then need is a majority of allies within the federal or state government.

Funny you should ask?

That indeed is where I was going with the question. Right now we have a choice to have guns or not. If You make laws going either way you make a great number of people law breakers. (AKA Crooks)

I would have no problem with guns in my home. I have a bigger problem if they freely gave out CCW permits.

Guns don't kill people...

Bullets do. (Pistol whipping not included.)

I think the US Government should ban the sale of manufactured bullets to the public. If people want to shoot guns, make them make their own ammunition. The bullet manufacturers would stay in business to sell bullet making materials and continue to sell manufactured ammo to the armed forces and law enforcement, but recreational shooters and hunters should have to make their own bullets.

Then, if some psycho goes on a shooting rampage, he or she would not be able to argue mental illness or extenuating circumstances as easily. Because he or she went to the trouble to make the bullets, that should, in some way, demonstrate premeditation.
