THIS SITE WILL NEVER CHANGE!
Dec 7, 2007
I leave for a few months in hopes all the crap will stop and see it's still the same. So should I just leave and never come back in hopes for some respectful conversations?
Someone once told me to stop feeding the trolls and it worked. So may I suggest others try also.

So I'm assuming the sites changes a little once a month or so with a few legit posts? I didn't go back further then 2 pages and didn't need to after reading all the garbage on the first two pages. Yea there's a few good posts on the first page, but it's the post that bash others that get the most replies. How can this be good discussion? JMHO

I'm a new poster, I understand your frustration. There are some negative posters. I've been ready to give up a couple of times.
I posted those very frustrations & expected to get blasted out of the water. I pi$$ed off a ''couple'' of people, they TOLD me what they thought, (some of those words hurt, I won't lie), but there were many others that were supportive, informative & friendly.
I don't know everyone yet, but there are some very knowledgeable, decent & caring people that come to this site! ''Don't let a few negative posters & petty grudges keep you from sharing''? Those are very wise words others shared with me when I was ready to leave. I pass them on to you.
You can leave & keep your mouth shut; you can stay & attempt to make a tiny dent in a little corner of your world. Only you know what is right for you. :-) Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the kind words but this has been happening since I joined in 2002 and it hasn't stopped and not sure it ever will.
Really tlou I shouldn't be talking to you. I've learned to be respectful and did reply to you this once. Maybe we can talk more on Dec 19th in Davenport!

TLOU'S response!
''really tlou, I shouldn't be talking to you & am replying to you this once, msybe we can talk on 12/19.'' ''Left this site & could only read the last 2 pages before...'' HOMEY, I had not responded ''politically'' in the last 2 pages you claimed to have read?!
I don't know the past agendas you all have. My response to YOU WAS to an original post from a person that I thought & believed, & that disagreed to other poster's negative responses.
''You thank me for my kindness, yet tell me I am not worthy of your ''friendship'' if I don't agree w/ the views you choose to make happen on 12/19''.
Did you come on this board to make a difference, or endorse a candidate? You, ''kindly'' blew me out of the water.
I responded to your ''original post'' out of human kindness, compassion & a hope that a change could be made on this board. You chose to take my words & turn them into a ''political post,'' supporting an agenda of your own. I may be naive, I'm not an idiot. Say what you mean & mean what you say, homey. Are you really so shallow as to like or dislike me because of a political candidate/party I may choose? Friendship doesn't mean ''total acceptance''.

Well there you go

another white boy ripping off the black culture by calling hisself ''homey''. Man you got no idea what makes up a homie cornbread. Why don't you white folks stick to your own and leave our culture alone. Homey, yeah right. Homely probably be more like it. Let me ask you Homey do you know what a dap is? George W. Bush doesn't know what a dap is. But then George W. Bush doesn't care about black people.

kanyewest/ anonymous

The original post & response had NOTHING to do with race! If you want to stand on a soap box & call other people out, do it when it's merited. homey has a right to choose whatever name he/she wants!
In YOUR world, homey means: cornbread? HUH? In my world, homey means someone that cares for their hometown, their world.
In your opinion, a white person cannot choose a name YOU find offensive? LOL! Who died & made you God?
Your words: ''Another white boy ripping off the black culture by calling hisself ''homey''. (Man you got no idea what makes up a homie cornbread. Why don't you white folks stick to your own and leave our culture alone)''! What culture is that kanyewest? I thought we were all Americans with a right to voice our opinions. You have a right to voice your opinions, like any other race on this board. You do NOT have a right to call the rest of us out as racists unless it's called for.
''Why don't you white folks stick to your own & leave our culture alone''? I'll tell you why I don't! I have very dear friends & family members from other cultures that have enriched my life & opened up my eyes to other worlds. Not one of them tried to cram their feelings & beliefs down my throat!
You have strong opinions, kanyewest. I get that! You can be a poster that makes a difference w/ your opinions, or a person that spews hate & anger. Stop looking for ''bigotry'' in the posts you read & attempt to see people as you hope others see you. It really is that simple. Your opinions will mean so much more.
