By the way, the "war powers act", more properly termed the 1973 War Resolution Act, specifies that the president may only act unilaterally if the nation is in imminent danger of attack or our national security interests are in imminent danger.

Obama has now sent a letter to leaders of Congress defining the mission, in keeping with the War Powers Resolution of 1973 requiring a report to Congress within 48 hours of commencing military action..

Perhaps more interesting is a little nugget buried in the letter that implicitly justifies launching this invasion without Congressional authorization:

"Left unaddressed, the growing instability in Libya could ignite wider instability in the Middle East, with dangerous consequences to the national security interests of the United States."

Note the mention of the “consequences to the national security interests of the United States.” Some Dems are arguing that Obama needs Congressional authorization under the War Powers Resolution, which only allows the President to initiate military action without Congress if America is under attack or under serious threat.

How were we or our national security interests threatened by Libya?????

Where was the imminent threat to the US from Libya? Or Pakistan, for that matter?

Think of it this way - it gives him some more things to infer when he apologizes to the world for all of the ills of the USA.

It's getting REALLY interesting.  Dennis Kucinich, Louis Farrakhan, and Ralph Nader have all said that if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached.  Such a glorious coalition that has been forged by our beloved President....a man of such talent that even his own staff can't get a storyline straight. 

The thing to remember is that the Liberals play by no rules.  Just as in Wisconsin, where the Governor campaigned promising to alter bargaining options for public workers, was duly elected, and the legislature legally passed the law when Democrats fled the state, they feel no pressure to do things according to the law.  They find a liberal activist posing as a judge to slow down the process, and wait for the mainstream media to spin a new version every couple of nights. 

It's just going to keep getting better and better, and personally I can't wait for the next election cyles to complete the cleansing process.
