I got an email from the family this morning.  As per Kenny's wishes, there will be no service, but the obituary should be in the paper early this coming week.  

I had difficulty posting (from my phone, because my internet was down), but I so admire Kenny, and the courage and positivity he showed during what had to be the toughest fight of his life.  Knowing how sick he was, I was honored that he continued to email and keep us updated on his health and activities.  I recieved the last email from him just 9 days before he passed.  If a couple weeks went by that I didn't hear something, I would email "just checking in", and he knew he was never obligated to write back if he didn't feel like it. 

Funny thing is, I never actually met Kenny, but know his son and daughter-in-law. He has been a great example of how suddenly, something happens to point out to you the truly important things in life, and it makes so much other stuff seem unimportant.  I have always believed out of the darkest events in one's life, something positive will come. So for Kenny, and for those of us touched by his life and story, that is the positive....that there is far too much to experience in life.  That each of us should "live like we were dying".  My thoughts are with his family now, but I will always remember Kenny as a kind and thoughtful man.
