"Don't make too much of a deal of this. There isn't a large corporation the country that doesn't have a dispute with the IRS over taxes."
Now that really is illogical! If he says he wants to pay more taxes, but disputes the less than adequate taxes he is supposed to pay and hasn't paid them, there is a big disconnect there. At least with any sane person. Probably sounds reasonable to libs and dems, but not to sane people.
Since it comes from the NY Post, we can assume it's been exaggerated
Ah yes, back to your old fall back of demeaning the messenger if you can't disprove the message. It does get old doesn't it. By the way, The New York Times is the rag that is very well known for its massive number of "corrections", and even lying reporters, not the Post. You need to give more thought as to how capitalism works. The company has an obligation to protect ALL the shareholders from any questionable demands of the IRS.
I think most sane people would agree with this. Especially a Republican share holder. Many of them are sane but obviously not all.
But the NY Post didn't make that clear. They just made it sound like Mr. Buffet was a tax cheat. |

1. It's easy enough for anyone to write additional checks to the government if they so choose.
2. I think we should all pay 17.7%. And I do mean each one of us.
Assume he/she is paid the minimum wage which is currently $7.25/hour. Work 40 hrs per week for 52 weeks and you earn $15, 080. Social Security takes 6.2% which is $935 leaving $14,145. Take out 17.7% for income tax which is $2,500 and your left with $11, 645
I'd like to see your budget for this person. Twelve months rent, electricity, heat, transportation. 3, 285 meals, clothing, laundry, school supplies, health and dental care (and/or insurance), and you might add a little something for entertainment or diversion.
Include anything else I've omitted. Maybe there should be life insurance for a single parent. Soap, toothpaste, toilet paper? Beer, big screen TV?
Oh, and what about putting something aside for retirement? After they take away SS, you'll be on your own. |

Fox, I have to disagree with you here. I think she tries really hard, but as TP puts it, she's just an idiot. |
