Wow--jobs report

Posted in: Muscatine

Wow? What's obama gonna do? Aug jobs report is out and uglier than expected. obama has sustained 9.1% unemployment again. Not only that...the July report has been updated and it seems that of the jobs created in July, only half of them actually were created.

Then on one of the news stations I overhead from the other room, they reported that the white house (OMB) itself released yesterday that they expect 9% unemployment for the next couple years, including through election year 2012. http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/09/white-house-unemployment-will-average-9-percent-in-election-year.php

The reporter had someone on that said no president has ever been re-elected with 9% unemployment. Reagan had 7.1% and got re-elected, but that was the highest the dude said.

Keep in mind...that obama's period of unemployment is the highest and longest-sustained period of unemployment since WW2. What is this man gonna have to say next week in his empirical speech that will be end-all? Even after his own office of management and budget forecasts.

Left right, republican democrat, liberal conservative, they all lied to us, painting rosier pictures than the ugly truth of it all. I'd love to see obama tell the truth about economics for once as I hoped bush would. Not a chance on either count though. Good luck to us, what next, oil will be cheaper soon?

So is anyone looking for some spectacular ideas from the potus speech next week? Or do you think it will be same old, same old speech that we have heard too many times already? Do you think we will hear any 'Joe Wilson' outcries or will everyone just smile and scream inward? Does anyone really believe that after nearly three years that he finally GETS IT? Or is he using the date mix-up as a chance to build up some interest in his speech? We hear all the pundits speculating and can't help getting caught up in some of it. I heard on tv yesterday some newsperson asked a conservative (can't remember name) what he most wanted to hear from obama's speech next week. His reply "I resign".

I don't trust in ideas anymore. I trust in one action, repealing free trade. We all know anything short of that will not create jobs in this country. Obama isn't capable of leading anyone but in one direction, further in debt and bigger losses across the board. That is unless congress puts forth a comprehensive repeal of what caused all this in the first place. He might get it, but all that is really more of the same political *wait and see, it will get better, stuff. I get it as does most of the rest of the under and unemployed nation. Ya just cannot produce jobs outta thin air un;ess that air comes back from every other country and continent they went to. Shame on congress and corporate America. They did this and obama is not equipoped to fix anything.
