Yeh, the popular theme is that the economy will be obumblers downfall.  Maybe so.  I think that the last thing that will be running through the voters minds, just before they pull the lever or mark the box, is "I can't trust this guy.  He scares me".

He scared me before all this, but to be quite honest, the majority of all that posted essay above your reply could easily be any one of the presidents ahead of him. Carter said we will never import another drop of foreign oil once we do the green thing(paraphrased due to lack of memory) Then of course Reagan promptly had any semblance of green taken down. We built bigger cars again, pumped more coal smoke and created the the largest national carbon levels since the 20's. Just ask any californian. The world got cheap oil in months, a growing economy with more millionaires than ever before and an even larger disparity between the rich and poor thanks to trickle down economics. We had a bit more to bank also, thanks to that voodoo economic policy, so we were not complaining either. Hogs were selling high, grains went cheaper into cereal and our stock's bellies, we sold more globally then ever, and the unions were falling apart. Yup, obama will never get us there again. I don't think anyone in the last or next four will either. Too much damage to this economy. So that essay is right, but hardly a brilliant assessment. All obvious and expected before he or anyone took over in 2009. The long and short of it. No, but they all scare me anymore.

You do have a real fixation with trying to justify Obumbler's evil deeds by comparing him to past presidents (most often to Bush), don't you?

What is it with that?  Can't you say anything about the current screwball in the whitehouse without bringing in some "moral equivelancy" argument relative to Bush, Clinton, or Reagan?

I believe you are wrong.  Obumbler is evil in the same sense that the old Soviets were evil.  He does not have good intentions regarding our country or Western culture.  No matter how many mistakes Bush, Clinton, etc. made, I don't accuse them of deliberatly screwing us up.  I do conclude that with Obumbler.  Obumbler will go down in history as an enemy of our country and our culture.  You cannot compare past presidents to this current one.  Completely different league.

You are my favorite guy here hiroad. I would love to sit face to face with you outside this screen and go at it. I don't want to justify anything he actually does, nor really care what he says, since he's nothing more than a sounding board for the willing and blind. Obumbler may well go down in history as such an enemy. No one knows today. Sure I can slaughter the man's character, his integrity, his looks, his voice and even his multiple race geneology. But until it's all done and we have the complete picture and history, I'll nail him along with all the rest of them as any *argument relative to any president or congress. That's all there really is. Now I'll give you that he is not the right man for the job and a bold prediction at best, that he is deliberately trying to destroy this country. That's above the call of perspective among any posters or debaters. There too is the crux of opinion and moral equivalency. It's all up to the reader or poster to decide what anything means to them no matter how ambiguous or clearly put. Outside of fact that is. That's  my brier-patch  here. I actually prefer to go the classical route especially in matters such as these. Equal time and fairness should never be second thought. I don't truly believe either of these men have deliberately meant to screw things up. I just think that when they do something that does in fact, effect us as a nation so negatively and our global standing, it shouldn't get swept under the rug in favor of trump cards played or lost by the new guy. Hence the death of bin laden. Then we like the comparison play. Fact is, who ever screwed it up, obama got him. Not clinton not bush. The evil soviet empire? really going there especially now with the worst economic disaster since 1932? Even bush wouldn't say that. And, if he were in office now, he would tread so much more lightly, not as before. If only huh. I like your style sir.

Any recommendations for a great place to dine out?

I will make a prediction:

Within 6 to 7 years, the Obumbler will be forced to flee the country and seek asylum in Indonesia, his boyhood home.
