The Asian Carp is fast heading to Muscatine's Mississippi river. What makes this fish special is that all you have to do is drive by and they jump into your boat. They grow large, produce a lot of fish oil, and make a natural fertilizer that could be used anyplace. They may even be capable of ethanol. Lets all invest a little effort and make it happen. You may be onto something. I can visualize a whole new fast food industry. Carp burgers with soy sauce. Carp pizza. Carp chili. Carp steak on a bed of rice. Karp-Ka-Bobs. This could put Muscatine back on the map. Carp was one of those wonderful dishes I use to make for the family. If you can it properly and patty the reward, it offered little to remind us it was a rough fish, that by most standards, just tossed ashore. But you should have seen the faces of our liabilities the day they were told they had actually been eating carp instead of salmon. For some time they were skeptical of mom's cooking methods. Not one would get near any carp at the table even today. Our oldest is over 50 now. I just loved smoked carp and stake too! though sturgeon is my favorite. October 2nd 2011 Report Reply
