What bothers me, (and I have stated on this forum many times I am a self professed moron)

that anyone could find anything intelligent in the original post.  It is nothing more that poorly worded contradictions that make absolutely no sense.  The post is not coherent and just makes no sense.  And we are the ones who are mocked for not being able to conduct an intelligent conversation?  I'm sorry I guess I am more of a moron than I thought.

Opie - you are NOT a moron. Several of us said that the original post made no sense, and as you pointed out is not coherent. You are also correct that WE are mocked by another poster who often makes no sense and then bdi chimes in and still left me wondering - wtf? I just shake my head. Fortunately, the loonies are here on this board and not in some position of authority although they seem to echo the thoughts of some who are in office.

Abstract perhaps, a bit of a ramble here and there, seemed a bit exasperated and in dispair to me. Okay, now and then we think we can read between the lines and at times offer a perspective a bit off of what he/she wrote. Forgive my attemp at redirecting and or second guessing, but I still think the points of the message is close. I read about what it might feel like to give up, to accept that our government as a whole is now a failure regarding the best it can offer it's people. A few ways to help repair those problems and perhaps get back on track. No specific blaming, no party bashing and over all it did have a point. If you saw nothing there then so be it.

Okay, let me tell you what I find confusing about the original post.  (and again, I am a moron)

Maybe its about finding someone who is willing to represent us the individual person who lives and works right here in the good old USA

Everyone who serves in Congress and state legislatures already lives and works in the USA.  You have to be an American citizen to be in Congress so that statement is redundant.

Maybe big business should cause the root of all evil to go away and bring jobs back to the USA.

My understanding is the “root of all evil” is money.  He wants the corps to cause all the money to go away?  That isn’t very intellectual.

He wants the corps to bring back jobs to theUSA (which would be nice) but then he wants to tax them heavily and have them pay a flat tax on top of that.  Corps are in business to make money.  How are they suppose to pay more taxes, a flat tax, pay to bring jobs home and turn a profit?  They will go broke and be out of business and all the employees will be out of work.  How does that help anything?  Now unemployment will only increase and welfare rolls will skyrocket.  Not to intelligent of an idea there.

Maybe we should vote out any politician that doesn't produce.

In theory that would be great, but I live in the real world (unlike the original poster).  We vote them out and who do we replace them with?  No one in their right mind is going to take a job like that.  And the ones who do want the job are the ones who want to get rich and be a part of the problem.  They aren’t there for the betterment of the country only for their own self promotion.  The only solution to that is not to have representatives, or not to pay them.  Public service should be public service and not a get rich quick scheme.

This poster’s ideas are great if we are living in utopia or never-neverland.  But we live in reality and I think the poster should join us there.  A reality with intelligent thoughts and ideas.

I could be wrong about all of this after all I am a moron.

I think it means someone who would represent those of who live in the USA.   As opposed to representing the interests of people who live in other countries.

Maybe big business should cause the root of all evil to go away and bring jobs back to the USA.

I believe the root of all evil is "the love of money".   I interpret this to mean that corporations could consider things other than accumulating money.

We, in the real world can vote those out who don't produce in the manner we wish.   Contrary to what you say there are those who try their damnedest to do what is right and aren't getting rich at it.   All too often we reward them by getting angry at the whole government and lump them all together and blindly "vote them all out".   To our detriment.

We have one member of the House of Representatives.   Have we all studied his voting record, source of campaign contributions, and his expenditures well enough to make an intelligent choice when it's time to vote?

I must be too darn tired to reread and then rerad it again. But in this post and others, are good points and over there are some more and then back here are other good points. So I suggest we sleep on it another night and vote again tomorrow. Besides, true morons are not so plentiful and hard to spot unless we are all well rested.
