After the failure of the entire jobs bill in the Senate, Obama and Harry Reid decided to try to send just selected portions through to try to get them passed.

 Yesterday, 2 Democrats and an Independant(Joe Lieberman) voted with the Republicans and against part of Obama's bill. This $35 Billion portion, voted on yesterday, only affects 400,000 jobs....union jobs, his base.

These are state and  local issues, not Federal government responsibilities.

But for those who think that the Federal Government DOES have a role in protecting public union jobs, Obama  neglects to mention that the half billion taxpayer dollars wasted on SOLYNDRA, and the half billion that went to an electric car company that later shipped it's manufacturing to Finland(as well as other green causes that have been a bust with taxpayer dollars), could have been used to fund these teachers and firefighters that Obama CLAIMS to care so much about.

VP Joe Biden continues to say that not passing the latest Obama jobs bill will cause murder and rape to increase.  This is a lie.

The correlation between money spent on cops, or the size of a police force, and crime rates has never been proven.

Characteristically outspoken, ex-Minneapolis Chief Tony Bouza doesn't buy it. "Cops have nothing to do with the crime rate, and anyone who says so is an idiot," he said. "They're irrelevant to preventing crime -- they just displace it to another area. And society can produce criminals at a much faster rate than the police can arrest everyone they can find."

Are any of our mayoral candidates running on a "Save money, get rid of the police force platform"?   Looks like they could pick up some support here.
