Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT) will no longer offer health insurance to new part-time employees who work fewer than 24 hours a week and will charge workers who use tobacco more for coverage as healthcare costs rise, the company said Friday.

Walmart, the largest U.S. retailer and the nation's largest private employer, is also slashing the amount that it puts in employees' healthcare expense accounts by 50 percent.

Yeah, and why is that?  It seems to me they are the very essence of what the liberals hate.  They take money from the poor (their predominant shopper) and give it to the rich.  The owners and corporates who run the company in the form of salary and bonuses.  Why isn't there an "Occupy" Walmart rally?  Cause it is already occupied by all the poor people shopping there, I guess.

When I used to shop at Walmart, I always felt sorry for the checkout people the most.  They all look like they are harrassed, underpaid, and living on the edge.

I always hoped that each and everyone of them would someday find a better, more descent job and get out of that environment.

There is just something depressing and malicious about our Walmart store.  I can't really explain it.

It's almost similar to having a slow cancer in our midst.  Something that is sapping the life out of our community.   Not bad enough to notice all the time, but lurking there and working away in the background.
